Executive Managing Director
Mr. Gomez has broad based experience in various levels in the utilities business encompassing energy, water, waste water management, industrial gases, natural gas… in addition to EPC related works in the oil & gas, power, petrochemical & process industries. The extent of his involvement includes general management, business development, operations, asset management, project development, finance and customer management. He has a proven track record to be able to quickly analyze key business drivers and develop and implement strategies for sustainable earnings.
Mr. Gomez has served on several boards globally and has worked successfully alongside major international firms and government agencies having concluded major cross-border deals. Mr. Gomez also represented Singapore at the ASEAN Council for Trans-ASEAN Gas and was responsible for developing the master plan for the ASEAN Gas Network with other country representatives. His experience in the Middle East includes consultancy services for Mubadala Development in the UAE and with ACWA Power in CEGCO, Jordan and RAWEC, Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Gomez holds a BSc (Honors) degree in Control Engineering.
Deputy Executive Managing Director
Mr. Röthlisberger joined RAWEC in June 2016, seconded from Marubeni. Prior to joining RAWEC, he has gained more than 25 years of international experience in the Power industry in various technical and managerial roles, including Power Station Manager of a 750 MW Power Plant and Director of Testing and Validation for a reputable power OEM company.
Mr. Röthlisberger’s unique blend of business and technical experience from companies like ABB, Alstom, Kharafi and Qatar Aluminium in Asia, Europe, USA and the Middle East undoubtedly contributes to our ongoing successful mission.
Mr. Röthlisberger holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Eswaran graduated with a degree in Commerce from Bharathiyar University, India in 1988. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an associate member of the CPA Australia.
Mr. Eswaran brings with him over 20 years of experience in the Utility sector and has worked with companies like Qatar Electricity & Water Company, Ras Girtas Power Company before moving to Australia in the year 2013, where he had a short stint of varied experience in Information Technology and Taxation. During his tenure in the Middle East, he has involved himself in execution of four mega IWP Projects, and later was seconded as Chief Financial Officer.
Mohammad Rashid Al Hazmi
Business Support Manager
Mr. Al Hazmi has an extensive track record of working in the Power and Water industry. He has over 20 years of experience in Asset Management and O & M in the Power & Water business covering all major technologies like thermal (conventional as well as combined cycle), RO, MSF and MED based water desalination Plants.
Mr. Al Hazmi joined RAWEC in August 2017 as Business Support Manager. Prior to joining RAWEC, he worked in ACWA Power as Sr. Asset Manager for the last three years and previously as Sr. Technical Support Division Manager in the Saudi Electricity Company. He gained experience in operation, maintenance & repair, rehabilitation and refurbishment of power plants as well as commissioning of new projects. Mr. Al Hazmi has expertise in Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Power Plants and has a strong background in planning, inspection, negotiation and the financial aspects of the business.
Mr. Al Hazmi holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Umm Al Qura University.
Mr. Bilal has an experience of more than 22 years in various technical roles of Power plants i.e. Design Engineering, Construction, Testing & Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance of various capacities in government and private sector in India. Mr. Bilal has gained experience in many managerial roles including the Plant General Manager for a 540 MW Captive Power Plant.
Mr. Ahmed Bilal holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Bilal joined RAWEC in November 2017. Before joining RAWEC he was working with ACWA Power as Director Asset Management. Mr. Bilal was also responsible for successful execution of various Power projects as Project Director during his stay in ACWA, including RAWEC Phase II.
Senior Technical Advisor
Mr. Renk has an extensive track record of managing Power Plants in different countries in MENA region. A decisive operations leader and innovative problem-solver, he is known to his colleagues in the industry as a methodical front-runner in resolving pressing technical issues and concerns. His undisputable exposures in the power industries matched with his keen attention to details made him as one of the most crucial assets of the organization.
Mr. Renk advocates mental and technical precision, brings with him over 20 years of experience in the Utility sector and his unquestionable technical knowledge in O&M, quality assurance management and cost control.
